Irmgard (Irmi) was born and raised in Berlin, Germany where she survived WWII as a young child. She met her husband, Owen Rice, who served in the United States Air Force during his tour in Berlin where they married. Upon returning to the United States, Owen and Irmgard settled in Queens, NY where Irmi received her citizenship and raised two children, her daughter Monika and her son Stephen.
Owen and Irmi moved to Daytona Beach in the late 1970's after Owen retired from the NYC police department. Irmi enjoyed travel, reading, card games and walks on the beach. She is survived by her son Stephen of Seattle, WA, her two grandsons and her daughter Monika of Daytona Beach, FL. Per Irmi's wishes, she was cremated and laid to rest at Volusia Memorial Park in Ormond Beach.
