

A mass of Christian burial for J. Barry McMenamy, who passed away on Friday, October 1, 2010 at his home, will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at The Basilica of St. Paul, 317 Mullally Street, Daytona Beach with the Reverend Tim Daly as officiant. The interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Ormond Beach, FL immediately following the service. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, October 4, 2010 at The Basilica of St. Paul with a Prayer Vigil Service at 6:00 pm.
Mr. McMenamy was born in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to the area in 1957 from there. He proudly served his country during WW II in the Army. He served in North Africa and Italy as a medic. He retired from Pan American World Airways. He married his wife, Mary Jane, in St. Paul’s Catholic Church and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for many years. He was Minister of the Sick, served on the Parish Council and the Board of Education at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Pilgrim Virgin Rosary Group, Little Flowers of St. Francis Fraternity as well as a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus. He devoted his life to his family and Church.
Mr. McMenamy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Jane McMenamy; daughter, Lisa Skehan; daughter, Sr. M. Wendy McMenamy; daughter, Suzanne (John) Kelsey; daughter, Mary Jane Strickland; daughter, Theresa (Greg) Tolley; daughter, Pamela (Dan) Stamey; daughter, Beth (Mike) Levenson; son, J. Barry (Nicki) McMenamy, Jr.; brother, Gregory McMenamy, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; 32 grandchildren, Erin (Edmund) Read, Aisling (Christopher) Cadmus, Maeve, and Alyssa Skehan, Ashley, Sean, Adam, and David Biggs, Jack, Matthew, Malcolm, and Katherine Strickland, Daniel, Meagan Tolley, and Courtney Mayo, Bethany, Barry, and Alex Stamey, Kaela, Ryan, Connor and Logan Levenson, Kateland, Tess, John P., Christian, Caroline, Andrew, Elizabeth, Aaron, Anna, and Augustine McMenamy; 3 great grandchildren, Adalyn, Christopher and Charles. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Jerome Strickland.
