

Lt. James L. England, 75, passed away on July 8, 2017 in Ormond Beach, a resident of Florida for 40 years. He was a Lieutenant for the Daytona Beach Fire Department Elite Crash Crew for 30 years. He received his firefighter and medical training at Daytona State College and many other honors from different areas in Florida and Indiana. He was born in Middlesborough, KY to the late Arlen and Beaulah England. He moved to Indianapolis, IN after his mother passed away and was raised by his father and grandmother Florence. He graduated from Manual High School where he was an expert marksman in ROTC. He moved to Daytona Beach, FL in 1970, where he started his career with Crash-Fire-Rescue at Daytona International Airport. He co-founded the International Association of Firefighters local union, where he was elected Vice President and Chief Negotiator. He was an avid Corvette enthusiast and won many awards and races with his Corvettes. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ormond Beach. Survivors include his wife Linda of Ormond Beach, sister; Lois (Lamar) Kilgo of Atlanta,GA, son; Mike, and daughter; Debbie, as well as two step sons, Jeff and Mike and five grandchildren. A visitation will take place July 12, 2017 from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach. A funeral service will be held on July 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach with interment to follow at Volusia Memorial Park.
