

James Kirk McNabb passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, with his wife Patricia by his side. Kirk was born in Seattle on June 9, 1949. He spent his early years growing up on the east side of Lake Sammamish swimming, boating, and waterskiing. When he was 13, his family moved to Mountain Park in Issaquah, Washington. Kirk graduated from Issaquah High School in 1967. He was gifted musically. Kirk played the clarinet and saxophone, both in the school band and later in the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra. Kirk was also an avid traveler. As soon as he graduated from high school, he started traveling and traveled extensively through Europe, Asia, and South and Central America.
Kirk met his wife Patricia Wahlgren at the Journal American where he was a journeyman pressman for 27 years. When Kirk retired, he and Patricia spent five years traveling throughout the United States, Mexico, and Europe. After that they settled in Ormond Beach, Florida, where they have enjoyed bicycling, beach walks and all the festivities at nearby Daytona Beach.
Kirk is survived by his wife, Patricia, two stepdaughters, Wendy (Kent, WA) and Rebecca (Bellevue, WA), a sister Annette (Sammamish, WA) and a brother, Gil (Boise, ID) as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Kirk was best known for his sense of humor, kindness and generosity. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
