

James Mark Yelvington, 64 of Palm Coast , FL, passed away on Friday, February 19th, 2016. James was born on April 4, 1951 in St. Augustine, FL. “Captain Mark” enjoyed 15 years as a State Park Ranger at Washington Oaks State Park and John Pennekamp State Park in the Florida Keys. He then obtained his 100 ton Ocean Operators license and became a Dive Charter Captain, spending many hours at the dive shop and on the boat. He loved sharing his vast knowledge of Marine and plant life while teaching part time at the Marine Institute in Key Largo. His later years were spent in Palm Coast with his family, grandchildren, and friends fishing, gardening and telling stories. He is lovingly survived by his wife of 44 years, Debra Yelvington of Palm Coast, daughter April Desimone an son in law Tom of New Smyrna Beach, son Jimmy Yelvington and daughter in law Takako of Satellite Beach, Jeff Yelvington and daughter in law Emily of Okinawa Japan, and Jonathan Yelvington of Palm Coast. He will be greatly be missed by his Grandchildren Christina, Michael, Kaito, Jonathan and Lilly. He is survived by his brother Henry Evan Yelvington and wife Sandy of Pensacola, Fl and Adam Clark Yelvington of Debary Fl. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, FL. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, FL.
