

Mrs. Jeani Cook Thistle, age 38, of Ormond Beach, FL peacefully passed away April 28, 2014 at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. She was born in Atlanta, GA, daughter of Berry and Betsy Cook of Thomaston, GA. She was a 1994 graduate from Upson-Lee High School in Thomaston, GA. She worked for many years as a Project Manager for DME Automotive and as a Traffic Manager for KISS-FM. For the past five years she was a stay-at-home mom who was dedicated to her children. At home, she stayed busy baking and decorating her one-of-a-kind cakes, creating unique arts & crafts, and being involved in her children’s school and sports activities. She was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Thomaston, GA, but had recently joined Christ Presbyterian Church in Ormond Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Marvin and Thelma Cook and William Farmer. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Joe Thistle and her children Addison, Annabel, and Eli Thistle, all of Ormond Beach. Parents Berry and Betsy Cook of Thomaston, GA, sisters Amy (Daniel) Eldridge of Thomaston, GA, and Mary Bess (Timmy) Daniel of Zebulon, GA, brother Joey Cook of Columbus, GA, nieces Josie, Sarah, and Lindsey Eldridge and Maggie Daniel, and Grandmother Jean Farmer of Sylvester, GA. Father-in-law Ron (Pat) Thistle of Tyngsboro, MA and mother-in-law Mary Nebel of Cocoa, FL. Brother-in-law Greg (Colleen) Thistle and nephews AJ and Michael Thistle of Londonderry, NH.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 2:00 pm at Christ Presbyterian Church, Ormond Beach (1035 Granada Blvd). Friends may visit the family immediately following the service with a reception at the church. Everyone is invited to join the family graveside at 4:30pm at Volusia Memorial Park (548 North Nova Road).
