John “Jack” Brixius, 87 of Palm Coast, passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2014. He was born to the late William and Evelyn Brixius in Easton, PA on February 20, 1927. He later proudly joined the United States Navy and served during WWII. As an active member of American Legion Post #115, he acted as a Post Commander for 10 years and represented American Legion as Blood Chairman for Department of Florida. He was also a member of VFW #8696 and of 40/8.
John is preceded in death by his son, John Jr. and his brother, William H. Brixius. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years, Alice; his children, Jacquelyn Rae Schomp (David), William H. Brixius (Theresa), Robert A. Brixius (Bennie), James J. Brixius.
A visitation will be held at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, on Sunday, July 27th from 1:00-2:00 pm, with the service beginning at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in John’s name to American Legion Post #115.
