LeRoy William Parent

LeRoy “Roy” W. Parent, 56 of Daytona Beach, FL passed away on September 3, 2017. He was born in Trenton, NJ in August of 1961. He graduated from Doherty Memorial High School in 1979. After graduating Roy proudly enlisted in the United States Army. In 1991, he moved to Daytona Beach, FL where he later met his future wife, Robin. Roy and Robin were married in March of 1997.

Roy was an avid animal lover, some referred to him as ‘Dr. Doolittle”, He enjoyed racing of all kinds, he especially loved being around the Daytona International Speedway, and partying with his friends.

Roy is predeceased by his Father, Harry R. Parent, his mother and step father Clarence and Juanita Agens and his brothers in law Edwin Timmer and S. Neil Childs.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Robin of Daytona Beach, FL. 5 sisters Alice Meyer (Ron) of Iowa, -Emma Christian (Charles) and Julie Derderian (Nicky) of Massachusetts. Nita Childs of New Jersey, Ramona Timmer of Colorado, and 1 Brother Harry “Bud” R. Parent II of Kentucky. Although he had a host of nieces and nephews he had a special connection to nephews: Daniel Parent (Natalie) of North Carolina, Harry “Mongo” R. Parent III of Kentucky, Will Timmer and Ryan Pitterman of Florida. And very special friends, Brian Martin of Florida, Andrea Andermanis and Brayden Walker of Texas.

A special thanks to all that came to be with Roy in his final weeks. Memorial donations may be made to an animal shelter in your area. A celebration of life will be held at Roy's residence in Daytona Beach, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. Arrangements under the direction of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, FL.
