Lila Mae Barker

Lila Mae Barker, raised in Linden and a long-time resident of Fenton, died Sunday, the 12th of December in Port Orange, Florida from natural causes. Born in Linden to Laurel Clyde Steele and Verna Mae Hendricks, she was preceded in death by siblings, Gayle Steele, Melvin Steele, Justin Eugene Steele, Joyce Dill, & Robert Steele. Lila was a homemaker, a devoted mother and grandmother, a poetic author and a bridge enthusiast, who found great joy in interior design.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three beloved children, Stephen D. (Kristina) Barker, Jan J. (Barker) Detrich, and Dan M. (Ann) Barker; five grandchildren, Angela R. Avery, Derek D. Barker, Jessica Watkins, Lindsey Barker & Kelly Barker; three great-granddaughters, Alyssa Aguilar, Sierra Aguilar and Lily Belle Watkins. Memorial services are being planned.
