Lisa Marie Edwards

On February 17, 2026 we lost a beautiful soul, Lisa Marie Edwards to a long illness in Ormond Beach, FL. She passed peacefully with her sisters by her side. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 18, 1961. Lisa moved to Florida with her family in the late 1970’s, living in the Orlando area. She graduated from University of Central Florida in 1982. She went on to work in the field of law as a Legal Assistant in Civil and Family Litigation. She was passionate about fighting for the underdog.

Lisa enjoyed cooking for friends, hosting parties, and learning new recipes. Thai was her specialty. She loved gardening and tending her plants and yard, but she was truly devoted to saving and caring for her cats and the strays when they wandered in. She adopted many and found homes for others. She loved the ocean, beach, and sun. An avid runner, YWCA member and loved canoeing and river rafting in central Florida’s rivers, springs, and lakes, she enjoyed boating as well, and was truly a water baby.

She is survived by her life partner, James Rupich of Orlando, FL; her mother, Kathy Bryant of Gainesville, FL; her sister, Carrie Edwards of Eustis, FL; her sister, Shannon Edwards of Gainesville, FL; her uncle Brian and aunt Anne Lancaster of Pelham, NC; her aunt, Jackie McCrae of Atlanta, GA and a nephew, Leland Garcia of Eustis, FL. She had many cousins and loved ones from all over the Southeast as well.

In memory of Lisa, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to your local Humane Society and Animal Shelters.
