

Lucille Botta was known to her family and friends as Lu, but to many as Nanni. She was born on November 19, 1929, and passed away March 6, 2024, in Halifax Hospital at the beautiful age of 94.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband George Botta, her parents, Bernard and Rena Salemi, and her sister, Carol Blotto.
She is survived by her brother Vincent Salemi (wife Judy), her two daughters, Debra Downs (husband Roger), Elaine Gonzalez (husband Julio), her brother-in-law Joe Blotto and her sister-in-law Joanne Bartoli.
Grandchildren; Stephen Baldo-Downs (wife Elizabeth), Dana Wade (husband Alan), Carla Kirkpatrick (husband Eric), Monica Cortes, Rena Hill (husband Garrett), Erika Rochelle (husband Jason) and Aaron Gonzalez.
Great Grandchildren; Brennan Bailey (wife Lauren), Isabella Baldo-Downs, Kensley Burroughs, Sophia Baldo-Downs, Jackson Kirkpatrick, Jeremiah Wade, Mason Cortes, Hudson Cortes, Hadley Hill and Cooper Hill.
Great-Great Grandchild; Gunner Bailey.
Nieces; Susan Tack (husband Don) Teresa Cavallo, Judy Olivia (husband Michael), Marianne Salemi (husband Tom), Margaret Salemi, Andrea Barnacz (husband Steve), Denise Jachelski (husband Larry) who was actively involved in her care until the end, Gina Kramer (husband Danny) and Yvonne Carozza (husband Peter).
Nephews; Chris Blotto (wife Kirsten), Bill Rocca (wife Claire) and Chris Rocca (wife Pat).
Cousins; Richard Romani, JoEllen Joseph (husband Rich), Lucille Mendola, Benny Salemi (wife Louise).
Lucille grew up in the Bronx, New York. She married George Botta on May 1, 1949, and at the time of his death in 2007, they were married 58 years. She had various roles, her primary being a loving wife, and a supportive and involved mother and grandmother. Lucille loved cooking, family dinners and was an avid reader. She worked at General Electric and retired from higher Education from Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York. After retirement, Lucille and George moved from Rye Brook, N.Y. to Ormond Beach, Fl. They were members of Christ Presbyterian Church and regularly frequented the beach together. One of Lucille’s most cherished roles was a care-giver. Until the day she met her Heavenly Father, Lucille was always concerned for others.
Services will be held at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home and Park 548 N. Nova Rd. Ormond Beach, Florida 32174 on Tuesday March 12, 2024. Visitation - 12:00 to 1:00. Service - 1:00 to 2:00. Committal Service - 2:00. Fellowship and light fare in the main building after.

Even in the end, Lucille would want to honor those she loved.
