

Madeline Patricia Lewis Wallace, 86, of Ormond Beach passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial. She was born June 16, 1927 in Birmingham, Alabama daughter of the late William George Lewis and Esther A Lewis. On February 5, 1949 she married John M. (Mac) Wallace at Ft. Jackson, SC. As Madeline followed Mac through his military career, she worked in the U.S. Civil Service as a secretary. Her two favorite positions were as Secretary to base Personnel Provost Marshal and base Hospital Commander in the Azores. Upon Mac’s military retirement they settled in Holly Hill and moved to Bear Creek in Ormond Beach in 1985. Surviving is her husband of 65 years, John M. (Mac) Wallace; sister, Rosemary Windham; sister-in-law Margaret (Peggy) Pearce; nieces and nephews, Ann (Lamar) Giddan, Ricky (Pam) Mills, David (Donna) Mills, Mike (Lisa) Mills; Susan (David) Dixon, J.T.(Nancy) Mills, Robert (Sandy) Windham, William Windham, Larry Windham, Kathy (Danny) Mc Ilrath, Cindy (Brian) Roberts, Sammy Mc Ilrath, Aaron (Marcie) Mc Ilrath, John Pierce and Solveig Kielty; great nieces and nephews, Christopher (Lindsay) Mc Ilrath, Jillian Higgs, Morgan Higgs among many more. Her sister Joy Mills predeceased her. The family will receive friends 12 – 1 PM, Friday, January 10, 2014 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 548 N. Nova Rd. Ormond Beach.
