Dr. Magdy Samuel Nashed, 72, of Daytona Beach, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. He was born in Al Minya, Egypt, on July 23, 1948, to the late Samuel Elias and Hoda Wassef. He earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, before moving to the United States . He moved to Daytona Beach in 1980 to practice medicine and was an active member of St. George Coptic Orthodox Church.
He is survived by his wife Venis Nashed, his daughter Nancy Nashed and her husband Sandor Pap, his daughter Anne McDaniel and her husband David McDaniel, his 3 grandchildren, Nora Pap, Mila McDaniel and Haddie McDaniel, his three sisters Mona, Mervat, and Souher Nashed and Souher’s husband Kamal Soliman, and his best friend of 67 years Wahba Wadie Wahba.
He had a deep love for the Lord and for his family and was very active in the community. His kindness, humor, integrity and generosity are the gifts he gave and they continue to live on in our lives. The things he enjoyed most in life were to joke around and tell funny stories, keep up with politics on television, build things and care for plants and trees.
The funeral service was held at 2:30 on Friday, February 26th at the St. George Coptic Orthodox Church in Daytona Beach, FL.
