I am sorry for your loss. As a longtime employee of Memorial Hospital I knew Mary Lou for many years.
She was a well known and much loved member of the nursing community of Memorial Hospital. I know she was much more than a nurse but she touched many lives with kindness and made a difference to others while she worked there.

I too worked with MaryLou during the 80's at Memorial Hospital, whe Memorial was a true family of dedicated staff. Got to know each other really well when the family went off to Callaway...she loved talking about the kids and the flying circus. After meeting her son and daughter we knew why! Mary Lou gave me a chance to develop my leadership wings by taking me on as a Critical Care Supervisor at Ormond Memorial Hospital many moons ago. Mary Lou always showed interest in our careers and treated "her team" more as friends than as subordinates. Many prayers and good thoughts toward her as she journeys home and prayers of comfort for her family as they feel the pain of her loss.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. I remember her well as a parent volunteer at OB Elem.  May you find comfort and blessing in this time of your time of sadness.

A name that was known throughout Ormond Memorial Hospital, a person true to the profession of nursing, a person that have exited this side of life leaving memories that will linger forever. Gone but not forgotten.  To the family prayers and comfort to you during such difficult time.

Mary Lou hired me when I first arrived in Florida in 1985 with a baby only 3 weeks old and a broken heart from a failed marriage. She was so very nice to me, and I really needed that then. Over the next 15 years she encouraged me and supported me in getting my BSN and being the best nurse I could be. I once made a med error that frightened me so badly I felt I couldn't go on being a nurse. Mary Lou showed me so much compassion and understanding...I learned from my mistake, instead of quitting. My job at Ormond Memorial was my home away from home and Mary Lou was always there for me through good times and bad. I will always be grateful to her and will miss her. Thank you Mary Lou

I have known Mary Lou since 1978. I had worked with her for many years. She was an extremely kind, gentle and fair person. She will be missed.

Mary Lou was my manager when I first worked ICU. She remembered me after she left Ormond and offered me a teaching job. That was the beginning of my journey to being a full time teacher.  Thanks Mary Lou.

Sad to hear of our great loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
