ORMOND BEACH - Mary Fanning Freeman, aged 79, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away Thursday July 21, 2022, at the Halifax Health Hospice Care Center. She was pre-deceased by the love of her life, Dr. Charles A Freeman.
Mary is survived by her children, Kathryn Freeman and Chris Adams, Charles and Dawn Freeman, Thomas Freeman, Robin and Zach Ent and her beloved grandchildren, Parker Adams, Joshua Adams, Daisy Adams, Charles A. Freeman, Thomas E. Freeman, Noah Ent, and Riley Ent. She was the best mother ever, but Grandma Mimi was her most favorite role in life.
Mary was born October 25, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, the eldest of 6 children, Beth, Ann (Nancy), Charles, Peter and Margaret. She attended King’s County Hospital School of Nursing where she received her Diploma in Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in many different settings but her absolute favorite was working for the Halifax Hospice Team.
Mary loved arts and crafts, reading, gardening, music in all forms and most of all, making friends. If you were not her best friend, then you had not met her yet. She was well known for her crazy sense of humor, her love of color and colorful language and also for her pearls of wisdom like “F*** you and your f***ing rules”.
A celebration of her life will be held on September 10, 2022, at the Falls Community Center in Ormond Beach. Our family asks that you wear bright colors to celebrate her bright light and come prepared to tell your funniest stories.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Halifax Health Hospice Care Center and the one-eyed mangy mutt fund.
