Mona Fae Roberts, 94, of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a deeply beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful friend whose life was defined by love, laughter, service, and unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ. She will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Mona was born in Tifton, GA, on April 7, 1932, to Josie Lucielle Hancock and Henry L. Cagle. She dedicated her life to her family and to her faith as a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout her life, Mona joyfully shared her testimony of the Gospel with anyone willing to listen and continually strived to live as Christ taught — with compassion, kindness, humility, and love.
Her family cherishes countless memories of sitting beside her in church pews, listening to her sing in the choir, and gathering together for treasured Sunday lunches after services. She was well known for her homemade biscuits and her famous “Grandma Soup,” both made with the same warmth and love she poured into every part of her life. Mona had a special way of making everyone feel cared for, always asking with a smile, “Are you behaving yourself?” only to follow it up with her playful reminder, “Well, if you get caught, plead the 5th.” Her joyful spirit, quick wit, and contagious laughter could light up any room.
Mona also had a deep passion for genealogy and family history. She spent countless hours researching family roots and helping others discover connections to their own families and ancestors. She believed deeply in the importance of family — past, present, and future — and found great joy in preserving those stories and helping others feel connected to where they came from. Her efforts touched many lives and created lasting bonds across generations.
Above all, Mona’s greatest joy was her family. Her love was constant, selfless, and enduring through every season of life. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, devotion, generosity, and unconditional love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Mona is survived by her four children: Darryl Roberts (Michelle) of Ormond Beach, FL; Deborah King (Alan) of Puyallup, WA; David Roberts (Robin) of Holly Hill, FL; and Deanna Roberts of Gainesboro, TN. She was also blessed with 11 grandchildren — Shannon, Sean, Sherrie, Richard, Randolyn, Alisha, Amanda, Samuel, Rebecca, Shelby, and Bryan — as well as 22 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Wilbur Lee Roberts.
The family warmly invites all who knew and loved Mona to attend and celebrate the beautiful life, enduring faith, and loving legacy she leaves behind.
