Nancy Marie Tancredi

Nancy Marie Tancredi, age 95, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on July 19, 2026. She was born on January 10, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, to Frances Pagnotta and Charles Letizia, and was raised in a home grounded in family, faith, and hard work—values that remained with her throughout her life.

On August 19, 1951, Nancy married the love of her life, John A. Tancredi. Together they shared 67 wonderful years of marriage until John’s passing. Their life together was built on unwavering love, devotion, and a deep commitment to one another and to the family they created.

Nancy’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. She and John were blessed with four children: Deborah, John, Lori, and James. As the family grew, so did her happiness, and she embraced her role as grandmother to ten grandchildren and great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.

Throughout her life, Nancy had a special gift for making others feel welcome and cared for. She was known for her delicious Italian cooking, especially the treasured family recipes that brought loved ones together around the table. During the holidays, her home was filled with the aroma of freshly baked treats, laughter, and cherished traditions that will continue for generations. She also enjoyed crocheting, creating beautiful handmade gifts that reflected the love and care she poured into everything she did.

A devoted Catholic, Nancy lived her faith through kindness, generosity, and compassion. She found joy in caring for others and showed by example that some of life’s greatest blessings come from loving and serving one’s family.

Nancy will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle spirit, unwavering love, and the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the close-knit family she and John built together, and in the traditions, values, and unconditional love they passed down through the generations.

Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Gaspar (John) and Lori Martino (Giovanni) and one son John Anthony Tancredi Jr. (Maria), daughter in law Diane Tancredi and niece Dawn Bridgeman (Michael). She is preceded in death by her husband John A Tancredi Sr. and son James Tancredi.

She is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, John, and her son James. She leaves behind a family who will forever treasure her memory and strive to honor the remarkable example she set.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Nancy Tancredi will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 29th at 11 am.
