Norma tried each day to find as much time as possible for enjoyable activities, especially with her husband Ed. She had to be very organized raising six children. Norma had a very strict schedule for completing housework in a certain time and on certain days of the week. Then there was time for other activities. She loved spending time with Ed in all kinds of enjoyable activities. At first it was a movie out every Saturday night. She loved summers with the family at Piseco Lake. Later it was Square dancing often and during retirement daily golf with Ed. She was always was doing crafts such as sewing and knitting. A constant her whole life was the love of reading. Norma laughed at the funny things her six children, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren did. She learned that life can be short, therefore do what you want today and don’t put it off. One daughter died in a car accident which made Ed and Norma decide to move from New York to Florida and not wait for retirement. Ed retired at a young age in case they didn’t make old age. She was always happy for what she had and did not dwell on what she didn’t have. She had three of her children die before her. She didn’t dwell on what was lost, but was grateful for the family she still had. Norma was most proud of being valedictorian of her large high school. Norma was predeceased by her husband, Edward McCoy Jr., and three Daughters, Susanne McCoy Novak, Nancy McCoy Merrill and Maureen McCoy. She is survived by Patricia McCoy Share, Linda McCoy Nettleton and Brian McCoy. She graduated from the Eastman Dental Dispensary School as a dental hygienist in 1947.
