Pam was one of those people who attracted “found family.” She had a way to make you feel like you had always known her, and that she really cared about you. She did, and people responded by caring back. Strangers would come up to her and start telling her about their lives.
She took in all the strays – if she thought you needed someone, she was there for you. Sometimes this involved “tough love” but it was love all the same. Someone once said she must be an angel, and she was. A cranky angel, but an angel just the same. Her family nickname was “Cranky Banky,” or usually just “Cranky.”
No one was more organized than Pam. Her decades of work as an operations manager for medical offices contributed to that, but she was known for her lists even before that. Even after retiring for medical reasons in 1993, she still took over operations manager duties for a friend’s medical practice in 2014, because they needed the help – and she cared.
She loved good food, and was an excellent and adventurous cook. She always made enough to bring samples to share. She always said that the way she wanted to be remembered was for the people she loved to gather at a good restaurant, eat good food, and talk to each other.
Pam was born on May 28, 1955 in Bakersfield, California and spent the first 52 years of her life there. She spent the last two decades of her life in Ormond Beach Florida.
She is missed, but our lives have been immeasurably enriched by having her in them.
Pam will be remembered the weekend after what would have been her 71st birthday, Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 4 to 6 pm at the clubhouse for the Hunters Ridge HOA. 100 Shadow Crossing Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL.
