

Quinn, Patricia Marie age 75 of Ormond Beach passed away peacefully, on July 12, 2013 at Florida Hospital HospiceCare after a brief illness. Patricia was born at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains N.Y. on May 14th, 1938 and spent her childhood years in Harrison, N.Y. Patricia moved with her family to West Palm Beach, Fl. in her senior year of high school. Upon graduation, Patricia went to work for the local telephone company. She held many supervisory positions within Southern Bell/Bell South Operator Services and loved the travel opportunities it afforded her. Patricia moved frequently following her work, living in several Florida and Georgia communities and settled in Ormond Beach in 2006. Upon retiring from BellSouth with 32 years of service, Patricia worked for H&R Block. She used her tax knowledge by volunteering with AARP to provide tax assistance to the community and to friends and family. Patricia was a member of the Ormond Beach AARP Chapter 1057, the Telephone Pioneers, and St. Brendan's Women's Club. Most recently she helped to establish the Saint Vincent DePaul Thrift store in Ormond-By-The-Sea and loved volunteering there. She enjoyed traveling, music, volunteering, and water aerobic classes at Daytona Beach State College. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bernadine Quinn; and her sister, Rosann Aycock. Patricia is survived by her longtime friend Elaine Hemeke; her adopted son, Jeremiah (Victoria) Hemeke of Tamarac, Fl.; and their children, Madyson and Noah; her brother, James Quinn of Plantation Fl.; nephew Joseph Aycock of Coconut Creek, Fl.; cousins, Jeannie (Robert) Pierce of Bonita Springs, Teri (Paul) Cook, and Lindsey Cook of Pensacola, Fl. Patricia will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of Patricia's life will be held at a later date.
