

Born and raised in Indiana, Penny lived a full and adventurous life marked by humor and a genuine enjoyment of people. She spent 30 years working as a secretary for General Motors before retiring to Florida.
Penny was known for her quick wit, fun-loving personality, and willingness to try just about anything. She loved walking on the beach, reading, collecting china and vintage glass, and shopping. An avid traveler, she explored much of the Caribbean and traveled extensively throughout the United States, including Alaska. She also enjoyed the many friendships she made through the American Legion and Elks Lodge.
Penny is survived by her son, Larry Gordon and his wife, Sunny; her daughter, Joell VanWinkle and her husband, Chris; her grandchildren, Jason Gordon, Evan Gordon, Madison VanWinkle, Sam VanWinkle, and Lily Flora; her great-grandsons, Xavier Gordon, Jaxson Gordon, and Finn Gordon; her sister, Jackie Briney; and her longtime companion, Ron Van Zanten.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Mark Morgan and Larry Ovesen; her parents, Leo and Mary Rouhier; her brother, Dick Rouhier; and her beloved dog, Boomer.
The family extends its sincere appreciation to Marivel Guarea and Sandra Pinzon for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Penny in her home. Their kindness, dedication, and support brought comfort not only to Penny but also to her family during a difficult time. The family also wishes to thank the staff at VITAS Hospice and the caregivers and staff at Therapeutic Assisted Living for so lovingly caring for her during the last year of her life.
Penny will be remembered for her sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and her striking blue eyes.
