Phyllis Naomi Davis

With hearts filled with both sorrow and gratitude, we celebrate the beautiful life of Phyllis Naomi Davis, who peacefully entered into her heavenly home on July 24, 2026, at the blessed age of 99. Having faithfully walked with the Lord throughout her life, she now rests in His eternal presence, reunited with those she dearly loved.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Davis, whose love and companionship brought her much joy throughout their years together. She was also preceded in death by her cherished siblings: Aloyd, Arinda, Leroy, Hyacinth Roach, and Mabel Harriott.

She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and unconditional love that will forever be treasured by her devoted nieces and nephews: Gerrard (Iris) Hurley, Millard Hurley, Aloyd Hurley, Leslie Hurley, Heather Hurley, Rosemary Hurley, Linda Lishem, and Gwen Byrd, Lenora Clark along with a host of extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by her gentle spirit.

Phyllis was a truly godly woman who exemplified the virtues of the Proverbs 31 woman. Her life was marked by unwavering faith, humility, compassion, and a servant's heart. She found great joy in caring for others, always offering encouragement, kindness, and a helping hand to those in need. Her quiet strength, gracious spirit, and steadfast devotion to God were an inspiration to everyone blessed to know her.

A gifted pianist, Phyllis shared her love of music by teaching piano lessons to countless children over the years. Through her patience and gentle instruction, she not only taught music but also instilled confidence and joy in the hearts of her students. Phyllis was a member of the Red Hat ladies and a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Daytona Beach Chapter.

She also found delight in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed watching an exciting tennis match on television and treasured the special moments she shared with Walter while boating and spending peaceful days together on the lake. Above all, she cherished time spent with her nieces, nephews, and family, holding each memory close to her heart.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the promise of God's Word, knowing that she has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Her life was a beautiful testimony of faith, love, grace, and service, and her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
