

Ralph Marvin Myrick age 72, died peacefully on Wednesday August 13, 2014 in Ormond Beach after a short bout with cancer. He was born in Bartow, Florida on 1/21/42 to the late Ralph W. and Marguerita B. Myrick.
Marvin grew up in Ormond Beach attending Ormond Elementary and graduating from Mainland High School in 1960. He had 3 siblings, Sylvia Myrick, Keith Myrick and his wife Brenda, and predeceased by Cody Myrick.
He married his one true love, Barbara McDermott on October 19, 1960. They raised 4 children, Kimberly, Stuart, and her wife Christine, Charles, St. Augustine, Scott and Timothy of Gainesville. His pride and joy was his beautiful granddaughter, Kellsey of Ormond Beach. As well as his cousins, nieces, nephews and many special friends.
Marvin enjoyed fishing, NASCAR races, walking his dog Windy, reading his bible and attending church. One of the biggest impacts on his life was his mission trips to Cambodia.
Marvin and his 3 sons achieved one of his dreams by opening his own convenience store and gas station in Corona. Over the 20 years owning Myricks Grocery he made many lifelong friends. Prior to this he worked at Winn-Dixie for 20 years.
Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00 PM with the funeral services to follow at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, August 15. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Harbour Baptist Church 428 Tomoka Ave, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
