

Ramon A Wrend (Ray) 80, of Ormond Beach passed away on Sunday March 13th with his wife Yancy and two children by his side. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday March 17th at 11:00 am at Prince of Peace church on 600 Nova Road in Ormond Beach.
Ramon was born on April 10th, 1930 in Madison Wisconsin. He retired from management at Aetna Insurance Co. in 1990 after 39 year of service. Mr. Wrend served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952 at Fort Dix in New Jersey. After moving from Wisconsin to Detroit Michigan as a teenager he was transferred to
by Aetna to Rochester New York where he raised a family and resided until 1991. While in Rochester he was a member of the CPCU and served as President of the Rochester Chapter. He taught CPCU courses at two colleges in Rochester. Ray enjoyed Golf and was a member of the Indigo Lakes MGA where he was President from 1999- 2000. He served as a eucharistic minister at Prince of Peace church, held many leadership positions at Holy Spirit Church and St.Pauls church in Webster New York, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ray also served as Chairman of the Insurance committee for the Catholic Diocese of Rochester. Ray was well known for his love of gardening and landscaping, sports and his witty and spontaneous sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Ben Wrend, his brother David Wrend and his first wife Evelyn Wrend. He is survived by his loving wife Yancy Madden (Ormond Beach), his children Cindy Wrend and Jeff (Lynne) Wrend, his grandchildren Douglas Wrend and Benjamin Wrend (all of Rochester NY), his brother Gerald (Aileen) Wrend (Rockford Illinois) and his sister Patricia Armstead (St. Louis Mo.) and 14 nieces and nephews.
In addition also left to cherish his memory are his sister and brother-in-law Marlene and Walter Page(Daytona Beach) and Margaret and Bill Buhner,( Madison Mississippi) a sister-in-law Bambi Sekovich (Canton Michigan) and Yancy's three sons ( Chris , Mike and Shawn Madden) and their families. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
