Raymond Francis Jones, Sr. “AKA Weez”, 71, of Ormond Beach, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018. Raymond was born in 1947 in Buffalo, NY, Erie County to Urban and Dorothy Jones. Ray was the youngest of 11 children. Ray and his family moved to Florida in August 1977. Ray worked for the News Journal until becoming a self-employed painter. Ray and his wife Linda had 7 children, 6 sons and 1 daughter; Raymond Jr., Tom, Ron, Tina, Art (Lisa), Albert, and Dennis (Jenn). Ray had 19 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild on the way. Ray, affectionately known as “Weez”, was always the life of the party. He loved Elvis, “oldies but goodies” music, Cadillac’s, and collies. He enjoyed fishing and wherever Weez went there was laughter, great times, and funny sayings. Ray was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where he also volunteered in the 80’s and 90’s. Ray was preceded in death by his parents Urban and Dorothy, his son Ron, and 3 brothers and 3 sisters. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 S. Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 6:00-8:00PM at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home-Ormond Beach, 578 N. Nova Rd, Ormond Beach. In Lieu of flowers family requests donations in memory of Ray to Halifax Health Hospice Ormond Beach Care Center, 235 Booth Rd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
