On Sunday, September 23, 2018, Richard L. Kramer Jr., loving husband and father of two children, passed away at age 78. He was born December 20, 1939 to Eva and Richard L. Kramer Sr. in Baltimore, Maryland. On November 19, 1961, he married Sharon Vandevender. Early in their marriage they moved to Florida where they raised their two sons, David and Greg.
Richard had a lifelong passion for all things trains. He was also an avid gospel music lover and a collector of model trains and memorabilia. He was known for his love of Utz Crab chips and there was never a Shoofly pie that he would pass up. His lighthearted sense of humor made family gatherings and even the simple moments much more special.
He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and served as a Deacon, as well as many other roles within the church. He loved to sing His Lord’s hymns both in church and around the house.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sr., his mother, Eva and his brother Robert Kramer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon; his 2 sons, David Kramer of DeLand, and Greg Kramer (Jo Lynn), of St. Petersburg; 2 grandchildren Ryan and Payton Kramer; sister Barbara Markwordt (Bill), of DeLand; brother Rodney Kramer of Oregon; brother-in-law Roger Vandevender (Joan) of Maryland and Junior Vandevender of Maryland; Sister-in-law Carolyn Smith (Roger) of Maryland, and his nephews and nieces, as well as other relatives and friends.
