It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Salvatore F. Cavaretta, affectionately known as Sal, who left us on May 1, 2025, at the age of 93. Sal was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.
Sal is survived by his cherished children, Mark (Debby) Cavaretta, Steve (Gayle) Cavaretta, Amy Cartwright, and Lisa Carpenter. He was a proud grandfather to Ashley, Louis, J.P., Josh, Brittany, Alex, and Arianne, and a doting great-grandfather to Daisy, Silas, Maddie, Molly, and Amelia. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Donna Reilly and Thracy Bennett, along with a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
A man of many passions, Sal found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for painting, often inspired by the soothing presence of Bob Ross on television. His artistic spirit was matched only by his strategic mind, as he enjoyed countless games of chess with family and friends, always ready to share a laugh and a lesson. Above all, Sal treasured the time spent with his family, creating memories that will forever be etched in their hearts.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, May 14th, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, where Sal will be laid to rest with the honor and respect he so richly deserves.
In this time of sorrow, we celebrate Sal's life and the legacy of love he leaves behind. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his laughter, and the countless ways he enriched the lives of those around him. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
