Sophia was born in Jamaica, N.Y., to James and Froso (Florence) Flomp nee Galadakis and was a 1947 graduate of Jamaica High School. She worked at Fairchild Camera on Long Island before marrying her childhood sweetheart Marine Sgt Frank upon his return from The Korean Conflict and was preceded in death by him. She was a housewife and is survived by her sons Frankie (Lisa) and Tommie and grandchildren Heather and Matthew and great-grand daughter Fiona.
Sophia was a dedicated parishioner for many years at the St Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Daytona Beach.
Sophia will be interred at Curlew Hills Memorial Gardens where she will join her mother Florence, her sister Kaleope and her husband Frank.
A Committal Service will be held at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens, 1750 Curlew Rd, Palm Harbor, FL 34683, on September 12, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
