He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Englewood and donated his time to church activities, Boy Scouts, and other volunteer work.
In 1989, Victor and Thelma moved to Palm Coast, Florida where he became a member of the First Baptist Church of Palm Coast and continued to participate in various church activities throughout his retirement. He was also a member of the African American Cultural Society of Palm Coast and a member of Chapter No. 2 of the New York City Transit Retirees of Florida.
