

MSGT Walter F. Frehe, United States Marine Corp retired, of Ormond Beach, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by friends and family on February 20, 2014. Walter was born on May 20, 1940 in Bronx New York to the late Fred and Johanna Frehe.
Walter enjoyed spending time with family and friends and he had a true passion for bowling. He has served on the Daytona Beach Bowling Association Board of Directors for 30 years, as past president, secretary/treasurer, and association manager.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Johanna Frehe; first wife, Helen and her son Robert Bishop; and his sister Evelyn. He is survived by his loving wife Betty; Betty’s daughter Sandy (Mark) Mathews and granddaughter Lindsie; his brother and sister-in-laws, Roger and Tootie DePuy and brother-in-law Warren DePuy; step granddaughters Brooke Bruthers and Lauren Lawrence; extended family members, friends, and fellow Marine Security Guards.
