Wanda Upson

Wanda Lucille Upson, 82, of Ormond Beach, passed away on February 17, 2017 in Ormond Beach, Florida. Wanda was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ebon L. Hill Sr. and Margaret K. Hill (Mascoe) on September 13, 1934. The first fourteen years of her life were spent in Lafayette, Indiana and she finished her junior and senior year of high school in Billings, Montana. In 1952, her family moved to the Daytona Beach area to open Howard's Ice Cream on Broadway Avenue. Wanda married Gerald E. Upson Sr. on May 4, 1957 in Daytona Beach, Florida. She worked in the real estate industry for most her professional career, spending 30 years as a real estate closer for Professional Title Agency. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband Gerald E. Upson Sr., son Gerald E. Upson Jr., brothers Ebon L. Hill Jr., Robert "Bob" E. Hill, father Ebon L. Hill Sr., mother Margaret K. Hill, brothers-in-law Luther "Lee" Upson (Rita) and Robert "Bobby" Upson (Iada). Wanda is survived by her daughter Stephanie Rowley (Ned), son Tommy Upson (Season), brother Richard L. Hill (Barbara), grandchildren Ashley Brumfield (Michael), Kristopher Rowley (Carolyn), Noah Upson and Lyla Upson. Great grandchildren Brantley Brumfield and Blake Brumfield. Sister-in-law Softie Hill (Ebon), Brother-in-law Wilbur "Bill" Upson (Sharon), many nieces, nephews and her dear friend Kay Wood. The funeral will be held this Friday, February 24 at Tomoka Christian Church, 1450 Hand Avenue in Ormond Beach with a visitation at 3:00pm and service at 4:00pm. Reception immediately following the service at Hunter's Ridge Clubhouse at 100 Shadow Crossings Boulevard, Ormond Beach, Florida. Donations may be given in lieu of flowers to Tomoka Christian Church in Ormond Beach or to the St. Jude Research Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
