With profound sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Bill Salomone on June 25, 2026, at the age of 86. Bill was a beloved father, friend, and one of the kindest people you could ever hope to know.
Born to Anna and John Salomone on August 18, 1939, Bill was raised in Yonkers, New York, where he attended Manhattan Prep. Affectionately known as “Squally” to his family and lifelong friends, he proudly served in the Army Reserves as a young man while beginning what would become a remarkable career as an electrician. He spent 40 years with Forest Electric in New York City, earning the respect of his coworkers through his dedication, strong work ethic, and leadership as a foreman.
After retiring, Bill moved to Brewster, New York, where he enjoyed a quieter pace of life. About ten years later, he relocated to Florida.
In 2023, Bill lost his wife. After caring for her for years he was able to prioritize his health and well-being.
Following heart surgery two years ago, Bill embraced a healthier lifestyle, becoming a regular at the gym and making the most of his retirement. He loved to travel, and some of his happiest memories were the many cruises he shared with his daughter over the last several years, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Bill was quiet by nature, but those who truly knew him knew how caring, thoughtful, and generous he was. He loved playing poker with his friends three times a week and always looked forward to another day each week at the card room. He never turned down a great meal and appreciated good food. Anyone who knew Bill also knew he firmly believed there was intelligent life beyond Earth. He loved talking about aliens, and the mysteries of the universe. “Don’t worry dad I’ll find out what’s on Skinwalker’s ranch”.
Bill was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. He had a generous heart and quietly supported numerous charities because helping others simply came naturally to him. His kindness and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Bill is survived by his loving daughter, Nicole Salomone, who will forever cherish his love, guidance, and the countless memories they shared together.
His sudden passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved him. Though he is no longer with us, the love he shared, the example he set, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Those wishing to honor Bill's Memory, are invited to make donations to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital
