Angelina Shunda

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we, Olga (Jack), Daisy and Norman, announce the passing of our beloved mom, Angelina (Angie) Shunda, at the age of 93, in Whitby, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

Angie was a cherished baba to her grandchildren Eric, Christina, Angela, Cindy, Daniel, Christopher, Vanessa and their significant others. As well as a great-baba to Sherei, Soriyay, Maddox, Victoria, Zakk, Abigayle, Carter, Colt and Malikai.

She filled her grandchildren’s lives with everlasting memories from her unconditional love, her stories, her delicious meals and home baking. She always prioritized their happiness and couldn’t wait until her next visit with them.

Angie was one of a kind, gently touching the lives of family, long time friends, neighbours and caretakers. Welcoming everyone with a warm smile and a laugh that could light up any room.

Not only was she a best friend to her three children, she was truly the heart and soul of her family, and devoted her life to caring for those she loved. Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit, love and kindness will continue to live on in each of us.

Mom/Baba: We will miss you more than words can express…your stories, your laugh, your voice, your phone calls and your visits but we will proudly carry your memory, live by the lessons you gave us, and love as selflessly as you loved us. May you rest in peace alongside the love of your life, our dad/dedo.

A visitation for Angelina will be held Monday, February 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, ON L1J2L4. A funeral service will occur Monday, February 10, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, ON L1J2L4. A reception will occur Monday, February 10, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 847 King Street West, NULL, Oshawa, ON L1J2L4. A committal service will occur Monday, February 10, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Thornton Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centres, 1200 Thornton Rd N, Oshawa, ON L1J 0C9.

Memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
