

It is with deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Aniela Wallis (nee Nizio) on Sunday morning, January 23, 2011. It was a proper winter day, the sun shone bright, the snow cold and crystal white, the sky was the blue of her eyes. Aniela was born in Poland on December 5, 1923 and came to Canada after the devastation of World War II. Aniela is survived in Canada by her husband of 61 years, Leon and sons Richard and Edward and her daughter in law Elizabeth. Blessed by three grandchildren Ryan and his wife Krista, and their baby Ella, Justin and Danielle. She is predeceased by her parents Wojcech and Katarzyna, her brother Jozef, sister Janka of Poland and brother John of Canada, brothers Tadek and Roman survive in Poland. She will be fondly remembered by nephews, Eddie, John and Rick and nieces Christine, Helena, and Lucy. Kazik and Lucyna Lesniak and very dear neighbours and friends that Aniela would consider family. Aniela was a person to count on for any type of help whether visiting the aged, feeding anyone who walked in the door or simply listening to people, if she could help she would. We will miss the unselfish spirit and heart that nourished us all. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa (905 721-1234) for visitation on Thursday January 27 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 P.M. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 7 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. HEWIGS ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH( 411 Olive Ave.,Oshawa) on Friday January 28 at 10:00 A.M. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
