Please accept my heart felt sympathies on the passing of your loving husband & father Barry.  I had the pleasure of playing hockey on Wednesday afternoons with him.  He was a competitive team mate, whose cheery manner made him very likable both on and off the ice.  He will be greatly missed; i am glad that I  was able to have had the opportunity to share in his fellowship.  A wonderful man who will be missed.

They say only the good die young, and this certainly holds true. Barry was a great man that will be missed by many. His love for life and all things good will be remembered by all that knew him, and help you through this time and always.

I was fortunate to play hockey with Barry for the past three years on wednesdays.  He was always joking about and gave us forwards that played against him a hard time.  He always gave it 110% and its sad to have lost him.  I'm very sorry for your loss, Donna, Tyler, and Jamie.  Your father was a good man.

I played hockey with Barry on Wednesday afternoons. In the short time that I came to know Barry I found him to be a kind, easy going, good humoured and genuine man. I usually played on the opposing side of Barry and did not enjoy facing him as he was an excellent defenceman who could not only take the puck from you with ease but rush with it and score with just as much ease and grace.

He is and will be sincerely missed.

Donna, I can only imagine the full, fun life Barry must have had. Knowing you and how much joy you have in your life and how much joy you bring to others, I am sure it is a reflection of the kind of man Barry was. My deepest thoughts and best wishes are with you and your family during this difficult time.

I can't imagine any words that could give you comfort at this time, but Ken and I wanted you and the boys to know that we haven't stopped thinking about you since we heard the sad and tragic news. Barry was so much more than "a nice guy" - I guess the picture in our mind is of Barry's smile and laugh. It seemed to come so easy to him, so that's the picture we'll keep in our minds. First as just aquaintances...he was the guy that ran the shop on Lawerence Ave. Soon after as a friend sharing drinks and laughs at parties and bars, meeting his beautiful Wife and his two awesome boys...Also as a teammate and a competitor on the ice, the fairways & greens at whatever "church" we attended the weeks we played together... You learn things about a man by watching him live...seeing him cope...hearing him laugh, and if you are lucky like I was, by spending some precious moments alone with him. We are filled with sadness that he's gone. We're filled with pain for Donna, Ty & Jamie and their loss... But we're also filled with joy when we recall every moment we got to spend with him in all the places we were together. Time is so precious, it's the one thing you can give away that you'll never get back...and even if I could get it back, I'd just trade it for more time with Barry.
Our good thoughts are with the entire family, including all of the friends, teammates & fellow competitors that would call him "Brother"
May your ice always be fresh, your faiways always wide open, you cup always overflowing and your wonderful heart always full of laughter.

I’m one of the guys that played hockey with Barry on Wed. He was always joking around and having fun with everyone on the ice. I’ll never forget the game 2 weeks ago when he insisted on wearing his dark red team Canada jersey, in honor of the Canadian Jr’s who were playing for gold that night. The only problem was, Barry always played on the  team with the light coloured jerseys, and that night was no different. As a member of the opposite team I passed him the puck several times that game. I think I heard him laughing every time it happened. I’ll miss him.
