Basil David Thompson

David left us, running late as usual, for his heavenly golf date on August 31st, shoe laces untied and cooler packed in his golf bag. David shared the joys of life with wife and best friend, Maret, and her extended family. He will be sadly missed by his sister Liz, nephews Barry and Michael and their families, as well as the Georgian Bay family members. David will be missed by his friends for life from Lawrence Park, golfers at Whitevale and Newcastle Courses, Pickering Slo-pitch teammates and Scarborough Board Computer Centre colleagues. David’s joy filled life will be celebrated at the OSHAWA SHRINE CLUB, 1626 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa on Sunday, September 8th, 2013. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. Celebration of Life from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Light refreshments and fellowship will begin at 11:30 am. to 2:00 p.m. David would like to specially thank neighbour Paula and many of Maret’s friends for their support during the past year. David and Maret send their sincere appreciation to Dr. Zalewski, the entire chemotherapy staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, and the wonderful nurses of Partners in Community Nursing, the PSWs from Paramed Services and the coordination of services through CCAC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in David’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of your choice would be appreciated.
