Betty Leola Hughes

It is with great sadness that the family of Betty announces her passing after a lengthy illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, July 13th, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Betty was the beloved wife of George Hughes. Loved and was much loved by her son David and his wife Brenda. Proud and loving grandma to David (Liz), Leslie, Ashley and Morgan. Betty will be greatly missed by her cherished great grandchildren, twins Matthew and Emily. Betty is survived by her dear brothers Frank Frauts (Dorothy) and Donald Frauts. Don was there every step of the way during her illness and the family cannot thank him enough. Betty was pre-deceased by her parents Effie and Frank Frauts and by siblings Barbara Anderson-Lloyd, Bruce Frauts, Ronald Frauts and Doreen Bobier. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Betty made many good friends during her eight plus years of taking dialysis three times a week and her amazing courage will long be remembered. Betty’s neighbours and other friends will also miss seeing her puttering outside. Her sunny disposition, steadfast optimism, quiet strength, and unconditional love and support for family were an example to us all. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Monday July 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, July 17th at 11:00 am. Donations to Lakeridge Health Oshawa Dialysis would be appreciated.
