It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Charles “David” Earle Sandford, age 67, of Oshawa, Ontario on Monday, May 8, 2023. Born in Trenton Ontario to the Late Charles and Lois (Ross) Sandford.
The heart and soul of his family, he was a devoted and amazing husband to Debbie for 42 beautiful years, an incredible Dad to Carrie Ereddia (Joe), cherished grandfather to Breanna, Victoria and Lucas and a loyal friend to many. He will be missed by his loving dog Roxy who was always by his side.
He will be extremely missed by his brother Jeff Sandford (Donna), his many nieces and nephews and his extended family. His love for his family was immeasurable. David will also be missed by his step siblings John, Susan, Debbie, David, Janice and Andrea.
As a husband, father, brother, son, and friend he was loving, true and trustworthy. He was always ready and willing to listen and help whenever needed. David was a Technical Support for Dealerships for General Motors for 23 years. He was the Owner/Operator of DS Marine Surveys for 20 years. He was an involved member of the Whitby Yacht Club for 11 years. In his earlier years David was also actively involved in Motorsports and Motorcycle racing.
He always imparted an encouraging welcoming smile to everyone he met or shared his presence with. To know him was to love him as witnessed by his loyal friendships with childhood friends and former colleagues. His acts of kindness have touched many lives and his legacy of service, love and compassion will live on forever. He loved spending time with his family and sharing his love of Sailing with his wife.
There’s so much more about him that not even words can describe. His infectious smile, dedication and generosity will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial visitation for David will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario, followed by a memorial service at 1:30 PM in the Chapel. A reception to celebrate David’s life will follow at 3pm at the Whitby Yacht Club.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Humane Society of Durham.
