Very sorry to hear of Chris' passing.  I worked with Chris in the '90's with Zurich. Always a gentleman and professional, with a great sense of humour!  He will be missed.

Chris was a very special gentleman.  His knowledge of the surety industry was great and his willingness to share that knowledge with "newbies" was much appreciated.  I benefited from Chris' wisdom many times during my career as I am sure others did.  He will be missed by many business colleagues as well as his family and friends.  A curry meal with Chris was always a pleasure.

I was really saddened to hear of Chris' passing. As probably one of the first Brokers to whom he was introduced by Gord Cox, I look back on many years of dealing with such a forthright, honest man. I have been retired for 15 years, and recently made a pact with him to join him for lunch when I was next downtown. Sadly, this will not happen, and I am the poorer for not having it happen.

It was very difficult to say goodbye to a wonderful man, who Jane and I came to appreciate and love. Christopher Enright is my my eldest son Chris Bell's father-in-law, and father of Chris' wife Jacqueline. Christopher Enright was promoted into the presence of his Lord, passing from us quite unexpectedly in Toronto, on April 30th. His genuine spirit, wonderful laugh, sense of humour and Godly example of love to his family will never be forgotten. Till we meet again.  Steve & Jane Bell, Oshawa, Ont.

What a pleasure it was to visit with Chris when he ventured out west to Head Office and what it meant to find he was my brother-in-the-Lord.  Knowing he is reunited with the Lord does not lessen the loss to his loved ones, friends and co-workers.  I pray for that special peace "that knows no understanding" to envelope you Jenny; your family and those in our Sovereign General family.

Chris will truly be missed.  He always made me laugh everytime I saw him.  He was the kindest and funniest person I have ever worked with.  It was such a pleasure just to know him.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this time.  We love you Chris!

For New Year's a few years ago, I recall the wonderful time we had laughing over the Balderdash game and how Chris invented genius answers to stump the other players and collect points. My memories of him will always stay close in my heart, as I recall the example he left on how to be the perfect husband, father, friend, and mentor.

We were overwhelmed to hear of Chris' passing.  How sad!

I worked with Chris at Fireman's Fund in the 80s, and again at The Sovereign General more recently.  I was proud to have Chris as a colleague.  His professionalism earned him great respect in the Surety business, and his readiness to pass on his considerable knowledge made him a real asset to the entire team.

But if Chris was an example professionally, he was much more an example as a Christian.  He loved his Lord, and to him the Bible was a book to live by.  He didn't read it because he was expected to, but because he couldn't live without it.

Jenny, our hearts go out to you in your immense loss.  If Chris were able to point to a scripture that might help at this time, do you think this could be it? 

“The Lord Himself will descend from heaven ....  and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-18.

We worked together for many years and through all those years I remember Chris as truly professional and dedicated to his work but above all else his love for his family was very profound. Those of us who knew him, worked with him and were fortunate enough to be his friend, know that the world has lost a decent, caring and compassionate family man, a man who placed family above all else, took friendships seriously and graciously and gave his all to all those with whom he came into contact.
