Labriola, Concetta (D’Amato) a beloved mother, who left us peacefully in her sleep at Oshawa Lakeridge Hospital in the early hours of January 22, 2025 with her son Mike at her side. Mom passed away in her 92nd year after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength and compassion that will forever be cherished by her family and all who knew her.
She was the fourth child born to Domenico D’Amato and Felicita Nigro on April 9, 1933 in Savignano di Puglia, in the province of Avellino in Italy.
She is now reunited with the love of her life, Luciano Labriola, they married on January 22, 1955 and they spent 65 wonderful years together before he passed in February 2020.
In 1960 mom immigrated to Canada also with her two young children to join her husband. The family resided in Oshawa for over 65 years.
She leaves behind her son Michael Labriola, daughter Anna (Gino) Pascuzzi and sadly missed by her grandchildren, Adam (Jillian) Pascuzzi, Michael (Bailey Waite) Labriola, Paul (Ashley) Pascuzzi, Carl (Adam Pasquale) Pascuzzi and Felicia (Daniele) Berardi and her beautiful great grand children, Carter Pascuzzi, Alessio Berardi, Chaira Berardi and Hannah Pascuzzi and many nieces and nephews.
She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. But the role she enjoyed most in life, was being a grandmother. Mom absolutely adored her grandkids, showering them with love and affection every single chance she got. Her family was her world, and she took immense pride in watching them grow, always offering her encouragement and unconditional love.
Predeceased by her baby sister Concetta Grazia (age of seven), her brothers Romualdo (Agnesa Maria) D’Amato and Antonio D’Amato, survived by her sister-in-law Maria Concetta D’Amato. Also predeceased by her brother in laws and sister in laws, Michele Labriola (1943), Oreste (Carmela) Labriola and Giuseppe (Carolina) Labriola.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her son Mike who did not hesitate to temporarily move into her home to assist her during her struggles with dementia. No more suffering, no more pain, no more dementia. May she now rest in peace.
