Darrell Allen Gardiner

December 11, 1949 – January 23, 2013

(GM Truck Plant 23 years.)

Passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his wife of 36 years, Pamela Corby and in the comfort of one of his stepsons. Born in Toronto, Ontario to parents George and Velma Gardiner. Stepfather and grandfather to; Sandy and Nicole Montpetit and their children Danielle and Jaimee, Shane and Shannon Montpetit and their children Ayden and Autumn, Duane and Karen and Cassie Montpetit. Before Darrell became ill in 1999, he worked at the GM truck plant for 23 years. Darrell loved music, sports, reading, dancing and helping others. He 10 pin bowled in the winter and golfed in the summer. Darrell enjoyed woodworking and jobs at home as well as for others and at one time dealt in fine art as his father did. Thank you to all who gave time and energy to both of us over the last 13 years and special thanks to; Brian Hooper, Marie and Ed Mazurkiewich and the Lincolnaires, Dr. Martin Kura and Frank Murphy of The Brain Injury Association of Durham Region. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, January 26th from 2:00 pm until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Brain Injury Association of Durham Region.
