Unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on February 7th, 2014. Loving husband and best friend of Janice. Cherished father of Adrian (Joni) and Melissa (Noah). Dear papa of David, Callan, Rachel and Sarah. Beloved brother of Eleanor (the late Jim), Marilyn (the late Stan), Gary (Lisa), the late Norm, the late Bob (Margaret) and the late Don (Nancy). Predeceased by his parents Harry and Mary. Son-in-law of Thelma Stuart-Linklater, the late Charles John Stuart (1993) and the late Harold Linklater (2004). Brother-in-law of Barbara and Bill Cuffe, and Bill and Linda Stuart. Will be lovingly missed by extended family and friends. Doug was a founding director of the Whitby Dunlops hockey team, former Kinsman, proud supporter of many local charities and Oshawa minor hockey. Memorial visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, February 15th from 1 – 4 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in our Chapel at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
