Doug was one of the best principals we had.  He didn't put up with anybody's nonsense.  I heard of his passing from a lunch supervisor whom I used to work with at his school before his retirement.  He was a very kind hearted man at school and put up with no bad behaviours. .  My deepest condolences to his family; you have lost a wonderful person!

I couldn't believe when I read of Doug's passing. So sorry. I have great memories of the hockey tournaments we played together as defense partners. He will be missed by many.

Mr T was the best grade school teacher ever and an honour to have him as a part of my education. I learned so very much from him in Grade 5 and through my grade 7 and 8 years in Science and Gym classes at Alexander Stirling. He made such a difference for myself and all my classmates. He will be deeply missed by us all. My sincerest condolences to his family, friends and teaching colleagues.

I had Mr T twice in grade school in Scarborough.  Grade 6 and 8.  He called us Yo Yo's and had us help him try to get chosen to be a torch bearer for the 1988 Olympics.  But he was relatable, he was real, and my god those castles.  

Mr. T was the best teacher I had in grade school, perhaps in all of school.  Something you may hear a lot from his students back then.  

He made a difference.

So sad to hear of Doug's passing. I was fortunate to work with Doug at Omiston P. S. in the early 1990's. He was an amazing vp, very supportive and caring. Doug will always be remembered by me as a gentleman with a big heart, quick wit and wonderful smile. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to his family.

Nancy and Family,

I was shocked to hear of Doug's passing.
Doug and I had the pleasure of teaching at Whitby Senior. We were a young staff and had great memories of our time there. Several years later we met up again. He was the principal of Roland Michener and I was assigned to be his new v.p. We had some good times with the staff and students.I know that he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

I first met Doug when he was the principal for my children at Roland Michener. He had an incredible gift in that he seemed to know everything about every one of his students. Both my wife and I volunteered at Roland Michener, and got to know him away from the school. I continued to work with Doug in a professional capacity well afterwards, and he always inspired me to try to improve - the same as he did with his students. The last time he was ay my house, my wife answered the door, and Doug gave her the biggest hug and said "I've missed seeing you".

That was Douglas Taylor - a very special person who was taken far too soon. I would like to extend my condolences to all of the family and say that he will truly be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. The world is worse off with the loss of Dougie T. Always a smile, a joke, a laugh and a hug. A great man and a great mentor. You are a legend my friend. My deepest sympathies.

     I was another very fortunate member of the Roland Michener staff to work with Doug.  He was a great support to me and the children I worked with.  He was very compassionate to myself and my family when we suffered a loss.  Such calm during a storm and a terrific sense of humour he had.  Doug loved to talk about his family and the good times. So sorry that you have had to loose him so early but hoping as the pain subsides you can smile and talk about the wonderful memories.

Nancy & Family --- we are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Doug.  The years we spent together on the Roy's slow-pitch team were some of the best of our lives.  It was such as great group of guys and Dougie was no exception.  Our loss of a beloved teammate is of no comparison to your loss, he still however was a huge part of the many great memories and we too will miss him dearly. My sincerest condolences goes out to Doug's family.I enjoyed my short time with Doug both on the ball diamond ( Oshawa Seniors Ball League) and back at the pub. He was lively, spirited and full of stories. We were all looking forward to having him join us in Utah for the Huntsman World Senior Games. Take care my friend and be at peace.

I met Doug socially through mutual friends. I shared with him the fond memories my son expressed to me of Doug, Doug being Cole's VP at his school. Doug responded in a most complimentary way, expressing a very positive memory of my son. What I didn't or couldn't express at that time was the very positive impact Doug had had on my son. He saw in my son the potential that young boys often hide, and he held Cole up to that mark. Doug was the most impactful educator in my son's life. I wanted to express that to Doug next time I saw him. I wish I had that chance. 


I was fortunately able to hire Doug, when he left Scarborough, and have him join the staff of Leslie McFarlane school, in Whitby. He was an excellent addition to the staff who was not afraid to do extra things like painting the Mustang pictures on the gym walls. He was a team player and well liked by the students and his colleagues. Our condolences go out to his wife Nancy and the rest of his family members. Requiescat in pace.

I had the pleasure of being dougs team mate and rival these past few years he even picked me up and dusted me off just a week ago Monday .What a shock to learn of his passing ,baseball already isn't as much fun without him. Life just isn't fair but he would want us to carry on ,that's who he was .Our very deepest sympathy to the family

Mr.T was my grade 6 teacher in Scarborough.  He was a tough but fair teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed his language lessons.  He'd bring in his pup Tinker to visit the class when he first got her.  Mr.Taylor knew how to balance hard work and free time with a bunch of preteens  So sorry to hear of his passing.

He was so proud of his family often sharing many pictures and stories about you all. He talked often about you Nancy, when I was hired at Fallingbrook I felt like I already knew you just through Doug's stories. Your love for each other was truly admirable. Nancy & family.....Doug certainly left his mark at Roland Michener. He and I worked together for 7 memorable years.  There was never a dull moment in the office!  He truly was a special man and he'll be missed by so many.  My sincere condolences to all of you.

I was so very sad to hear of Doug's passing. So sudden and far too soon. I had the pleasure of working with Doug at Roland Michener as his part-time secretary. I have so many great memories of our time together and the fun times which were many. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Mr.Taylor was my math teacher in 1995 and I will never forget how he taught his classes and moved on throughout the school board. Later in the years he was my nieces principal at her school Bobby Orr. It was a great reunion to see him at her grade 8 graduation. He remembered both my brother and I.
Family and close friends of this kind man, excellent educator and all around great guy. I am saddened for your loss. My deepest condolences.

Doug was a well loved and respected Administrator, always cheerful and positive. He certainly left his mark on Ajax.

Dear Nancy, family and friends. I am deeply saddened  to hear about the passing of Doug.  He will be greatly missed. He was a very supportive principal when I was a teacher at Roland Michener and gave Bruce and I a lot of advice in financial planning, particularly planning for retirement. I'm so sad that his life was cut way too short!  Doug also supported me at Vaughan Willard when I was acting Principal. He touched the hearts of staff and students!  I'm very sorry I will miss the visitation on Wednesday, I will be in Montreal with our grade 8's. He is in my thoughts and prayers.

I will miss his loud banter at the bar - his trips to the lake to watch hoop - and have some red - he was a master of the q - his love of nascar, hockey and hoop and his understanding of people who had personal struggles.
