Gary Brian MacDougal

Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 27th, 2010 at home in Oshawa, Ontario at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with cancer. Retiree of Auto Workers Community Credit Union. Past member of Temple 649 Masonic Lodge, Holy Royal Arch Masons, Cryptic Rite, St. John the Alminar Knights Templar and the Oshawa Shrine Club where he was past secretary and known as “Whiskers the Clown” in the Clown Unit. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, his wife of 42 years, Jean (nee Tamblyn) and his daughters Sarah and her husband Ryan Mercure of Collierville, TN., and Stephanie MacDougal of Oshawa, ON. He will also be lovingly remembered by sister-in-law Laurel Tamblyn (predeceased by brother-in-law John Tamblyn), brother-in-law Ross Tamblyn and his wife Michèle and sister-in-law Marilyn Coons and her husband Wayne. He will also be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and other close family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Lawrence ‘Mac’ and Verna MacDougal. At Gary’s request he will be cremated and there will be no funeral service but a Celebration of Life gathering will take place at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario (905-721-1234) on Friday, December 31st, from 2:30 to 5:00 pm. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers to Lakeridge Health Cancer Centre or the Shriners Hospital for Children would be greatly appreciated by the family.
