Gertrude Marguerite Barker

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, September 13th, 2013 at the age of 90. Predeceased by her husband John (1991). Loving mother to John (Lois), Susan, Tom (Kathy) and Kelly (Andrew). Adored Nana of Gregg, Steve (Cathy), Laura, Nicole, Christina (John), Tom (Becky) and Michelle. Gert leaves behind 10 great grandchildren as well. Gert will be fondly remembered for her loving ways. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring and compassionate nursing staff of the 8th floor and Emergency at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for taking such good care of Gert and her family. Many thanks to those on staff at Hillsdale Estates – Primrose Path who provided loving care to Gert. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Monday, September 16th from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, September 17th at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery. Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted for the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
