Born on December 22, 1958, in Georgetown, Guyana. Hazel was the daughter of Hillaries Cameron (née Burrows) and Ivan Gordon. Hazel emigrated to Canada in 1976 she shared 49 loving years of marriage with her devoted husband, Gordon Liverpool and together they built a life rooted in family, adventure, and togetherness. They cherished travelling throughout Ontario and the United States on family road trips and excursions, creating countless memories along the way. Their love of travel also took them farther from home, with treasured trips to Cuba on several occasions, as well as Jamaica, Panama, Cartagena, and Florida. Wherever they went, their greatest joy was being together and sharing those experiences with family.
Her love for her children and grandchildren was immeasurable, and they were the greatest joy of her life - Kwesi Humphrey and his wife Donna, Lawrence Liverpool and his wife Keely; Lisa Haseley and her husband Robert; and her cherished “GRANDS” as she lovingly called her grand children, Lael, Malik, Justus, Tamirea, Samaiya, Lauryn, Kai, Micah and Hannah; and most recently she was so proud to have become a great grand mother to precious, Alaiya.
An avid gardener who found peace outdoors, Hazel was caring and endlessly giving, dedicating her life to the well-being of others. She lovingly cared for her mother, Hillaries, and her stepfather, Neville Cameron for 20+ years, always putting family first. Hazel was always there with an open door, a helping hand, a warm hug, a hot meal, or a place to stay. Known for her sweet nature, gentle and GREAT SMILE, and infectious laughter, she held a special place in many hearts. To some, she was a treasured friend; to others, a second mother. To all, she was someone truly special. Her lifelong devotion to caring for others was reflected in her work at Sunnybrook Hospital, the Basilian Fathers of Toronto, and Chartwell Wynfield Long Term Care Residence.
