Passed away peacefully, with close family by his side on June 14th, 2017 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Loving husband of the late Jeanne (2014). Adored father of Lynne and the late Dave (2011). Cherished Grampa of Scott (Caryn) and Julie (Brent). Beloved Great-Grampa of Sydney, Zak, Sierra, Mackenzie, Reilly and Aidan. Respected member of the Canadian Forces 1st Hussars armoured regiment, recognized for liberating the Netherlands during the North-West Europe Campaign of 1944-1945. Hugh will be dearly missed by many extended family and friends. As per Hugh’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service, however a celebration of Hugh’s life will take place at a later date.
