Passed away peacefully on August 2nd, 2022. Beloved wife of Salvatore. Loving mother of Nancy and Peter (Rosemary). She will be missed by her grandchildren Stephen, Nicole, Andrew (Melisa) and Peter (Mariya) and her great grandchild Julian Marco. Dear sister of Rosalia, Maria, Giuseppina, Antonio and Salvatore. Predeceased by her brothers Onofrio and Giovanni. Ignazia was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, nonna, sister and aunt.
Ignazia's cooking will be greatly missed. She was known for her homemade tomato sauce, lasagna and gnocchi. She also loved to treat family and friends with her fresh Italian pastries, especially torteglione, turdiddri, pignolata, tetu and her famous cannoli. Ignazia will be remembered by all for her endless love, compassion, generosity, humour, infectious smile and open arms.
Private family visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234). All are welcome to the Funeral Mass and the Interment. Funeral Mass will be held at ST. MARY OF THE PEOPLE CHURCH (570 Marion Avenue, Oshawa) on Wednesday, August 10th, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to immediately follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery (355 Taunton Road, Whitby).
Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Kidney Foundation would be very much appreciated.
