Ira George Williams

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ira George Williams, age 77, of Ajax, Ontario who passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023. He was born in Troy, Trelawny Jamaica on February 17th 1945. Son of the Late John and Hazel Williams The heart and soul of his family, he was a devoted husband, resilient dad, loving son, incredible grandfather and a loyal friend. Known for his gracious charm and strength, he is survived by his loving children, Lisa, Angie, Paula, Yvonne, Kamica, Andrew, Tricia, and Steve and wife Patricia Williams. He was also a cherished grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was always ready and willing to help whenever needed and was a person who was very hardworking and took pride in the work that he did. His magnetic personality and comforting presence will be missed by all that knew him. His love for his family and The Lord was immeasurable and admirable. As a devoted Grandfather, his favorite place to be was surrounded by family at every holiday get together or around the table for Sunday dinner, but his legacy of service, love, and compassion will live on forever. As a dedicated usher, his brilliant smile made a lasting impact to everyone he met. He worked hard to build up himself and others around him. To know him was to love him as witnessed by his loyal friendships, community and family. Most importantly, his acts of service have touched many lives. He has always been, and will continue to be a pillar of strength for his family. His unwavering determination and resilience throughout his journey have made him a hero to all those who knew him. His humor, infectious laugh, and slam at the domino table will live on forever through all of us. We are so blessed to have been able to spend these last remaining days with grandpa and we thank God for the privilege for having him in our lives. He meant so much to his family and there is so much more about him that not even words can describe. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family appreciates all of your prayers and kind gestures during this difficult time. A visitation for Ira will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christian Life Center, 1030 Ravencroft Road, Ajax, Ontario. There will also be a live stream funeral service at 11:00am in the Church Chapel. Following the Service there will be a reception at Destiny and Dominion Church, 1255 Terwillegar Avenue, Oshawa, Ontario.
