Jobin, James Frederick (1947-2026) passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his daughters Cheryl Jobin (Doug Hinks), Christine Jobin (Roger Saunders), his grandchildren Ashlee, Trystan & Jordan and his loving partner Diane Douglas.
In his younger years, Jim enjoyed bowling, golfing, and cheering on his beloved Maple Leafs. A devoted fan of rock and roll, his heart belonged to Elvis—whose music became the soundtrack of his later years. Whether listening, singing along, or proudly sharing his favourite songs, Jim’s love for “The King” was unmistakable. He will be remembered for his quick wit and infectious sense of humour that never failed to brighten a room.
A special thanks to the 7th floor staff of Age Care over the last few years.
Rest in peace “Papa”, “Poppy”, “Uncle Babes”. Forever in our hearts.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home (847 King Street West, Oshawa, ON) on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 11:30am to 2:30pm.
In memory of Jim, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
